Why For His Glory?
One day a few years ago, I had a moment with the Lord that transformed my thinking.
I was scrolling through Instagram when I happened to glance at my profile. It was a fairly underwhelming profile with an average bio - name, job title, recognitions. The same stuff you find on everyone’s profiles.
In that moment, I felt God gently whisper that my bio (and entire life, really) were focused on the wrong thing; me. If I wanted my accounts and my life to have an impact on others, then I needed to do it all For His Glory. It shouldn’t be about me, it should be for Him.
I changed my bios on all platforms from recognizing and celebrating me to “For His Glory” and haven’t looked back since. I was studying a few key pieces of Scripture that really encouraged me to make For His Glory the theme of my life:
“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31
Through prayer, reading Scripture, and leaning into what the Holy Spirit wanted to teach me, I began seeing the same patterns in the lives of people around me; a life that revolved around themselves rather than their Savior.
Out of that conviction and personal transformation came For His Glory. I hope what you find in these words and on these pages makes you want to live entirely for Jesus.
